I wear make up nearly every day. When I’m feeling lazy I just cover up my dark circles and any blemishes with a little concealer and throw on some mascara, but most days I spend 10-20 minutes doing my make up. I usually go for a “no make up make up” look, and here are the products I use daily to achieve this.
I wear spf every day, regardless of season. Finding the right spf can be tricky, and I recommend trying out a few products before writing it off. I broke out like crazy from sunscreens by two brands I usually love, Tarte and Josie Maran. I ended up trying this André Lorent sunscreen, and it works so well with my dry, sensitive skin.
I also can’t put on foundation or tinted moisturizer without priming my skin first. I have a lot of different primers that I use occasionally, but the one I keep in my everyday make up bag and reach for the most is the Glossier Priming Moisturizer. I literally love everything Glossier, so much so that my next post will be a Glossier brand spotlight. For now, just trust me that this moisturizing primer is lightweight, hydrating, and provides an awesome base for face products.
I always like to make sure that my lips are smooth and hydrated, and I look to Glossier for this, too. I am obsessed with their Balm Dotcom, and I own it in every flavor available. The rose scent is pictured here.
I’m not super picky about eye creams, but I do like to make sure I use something before putting on my undereye concealer. I’ve been using this Nourish Organic Eye Cream with avocado and argan oil.
Once my face is fully prepped and hydrated, I start by color correcting my undereyes and any blemishes with the Tarte CC Undereye Corrector. This is the perfect salmon color to cancel out any darkness. On lazy days I’ll throw on some mascara and stop here, but most of the time I’ll use a light layer of foundation or tinted moisturizer. My favorite foundation ever is the Make Up Forever Ultra HD Stick Foundation. You really don’t need much, and it is super creamy and dewy looking even on dry skin. I’m a total maniac about my dark circles, so I’ll go back in with a concealer to ensure that it’s fully covered. I reach for either the Make Up Forever Ultra HD Concealer or the Glossier Stretch Concealer to seal the deal.
It has taken me a really long time to find the perfect brow products, but I’m totally enamored with the Benefit Ka Brow in #3. It’s an ashy medium brown that is perfect for my hair color. I misplaced it right before taking this photo, but I also use the Anastasia Brow Wiz in Caramel to fill in any sparse areas after using the Ka Brow.
The older I get, the more I stray away from glittery or satin finish eye shadows. This Too Faced Natural Matte palette has an awesome selection of warm, neutral shades for the perfect everyday look. I also skip eyeliner for a more natural look.
The only item pictured here that doesn’t fit in the lovely cosmetic bag that I convinced my husband I needed last Christmas is the Kat Von D Shade and Light Palette. I use the pinky highlight color to set my face and undereyes, and I use the cooler, light brown bronzer to contour my face very slightly. Then I use the Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder for a subtle, not too shimmery highlight. The last powder product I use is Nars Blush in Madly, a nice seashell pink that goes with everything.
Finally, I use Benefit’s Roller Lash Mascara, and I’m out the door!
What are some of your favorite products to use everyday? I’m always looking to try new things, so please share your recommendations in the comments!
